Overview
The Downloads page in the Datacasting web interface lists all files that have been received over the broadcast channel. It provides a simple view of filenames and storage paths, confirming that your device is receiving Datacasting data correctly.
Step 1: How the Downloads Page Works
The device continuously receives Datacasting content through the broadcast signal.
As new files are downloaded and verified, they are added to the list automatically.
The Downloads page updates automatically—no user action is needed.
Files appear progressively as transmission of each segment completes.
You can leave the page open; it will refresh automatically whenever new files arrive.
Step 2: Reading the Downloads List
Each row on the Downloads page includes:
| Column Description | |
|---|---|
| Filename | The name of the file or asset received (for example, Background.jpg or header.js). |
| Path | The internal storage path on the device. |
Files are grouped under folders
These folders correspond to broadcast applications or content packages delivered via Datacasting.
Step 3: How Updates Appear
New entries appear automatically once their download and verification are complete.
Files may arrive in groups or batches, depending on how the broadcaster schedules them.
There is no progress bar — completed files simply appear in the list.
The list refreshes automatically when new files are detected.
If no new files appear for an extended period, check that your device is still receiving a stable signal (see the General tab).
Step 4: Portal Link Behavior
At the top of the page, you may see a Content Portal link (replacing the placeholder “EduAppUrl”).
This link appears automatically after the full broadcast package for that portal is received and validated.
Once active, it allows access to the associated broadcast application (such as an Education Portal).
Step 5: File Storage Locations
The files listed are stored in the device’s internal Datacasting directory.
For reference, the full paths shown in the table indicate where each item resides.
End users normally do not need to access these paths manually.
Step 6: Troubleshooting Missing Files
If expected content is not showing up:
Open the General tab and confirm that Lock is Yes.
Verify that your SNR and RSSI readings are stable.
Wait at least one broadcast cycle (typically several minutes).
Reboot the device and reopen the web interface if necessary.
Contact support and include:
Receiver ID (from the top of the page)
Software Version (from the About screen)
A screenshot of the Downloads page
Expected Results
The Downloads tab displays a growing list of received files.
Filenames and paths update automatically as new content is received.
The Content Portal link appears once its associated app package has been fully delivered.
Continuous updates confirm that Datacasting reception is active and stable.
