Overview
Before receiving Datacasting content, your device needs to scan for available ATSC 3.0 services and lock onto the correct broadcast channel. This guide explains how to run a channel scan, select a Datacasting service, and verify signal quality in the web interface.
Step 1: Open the Web Interface
Make sure your device and computer (or phone) are on the same local network.
In a browser, go to:
http://adth.localor use the device’s IP address from Settings → Network.
When the Tolka web UI opens, click the General tab if it isn’t already selected.
You should see your ReceiverId and signal information fields.
Step 2: Select a Frequency or Channel
Ensure your antenna is properly connected.
In the General tab, select a Frequency or Channel from the dropdown list.
Click Scan (or Start Scan, depending on your version).
The system will tune to that frequency and detect available services (PLPs).
Step 3: Monitor Signal Strength
As the device scans:
The Signal indicator will update automatically.
Wait 3–5 seconds between antenna adjustments to allow the Signal and SNR readings to refresh.
(These values update roughly every few seconds.)The goal is to achieve a green signal status or stable readings before proceeding.
Step 4: Select a Service
After the scan completes:
The Service List will display one or more detected services, each with a Service ID and Label.
Select the Datacasting service (it may be named after the broadcaster or show a data-related label).
Click Select or Apply, depending on your software version.
The device will then lock onto that service and start receiving Datacasting content.
Step 5: Verify Lock and Reception
Confirm that Lock Status shows Yes.
Check that SNR and RSSI values remain steady.
You can also switch to the Downloads tab to verify that new files are appearing
Files appearing in this list confirm the Datacasting stream is active.
Expected Results
One or more services are detected after scanning.
The selected service locks successfully and shows stable signal values.
Files begin appearing in the Downloads tab, confirming that Datacasting content is being received.
