Instructions to update the system software

Step 1: Connect ADTH NEXTGEN TV Box to an Ethernet or WiFi network

Step 2: Navigate to Settings > About

(Press the BACK button on the remote while in the program guide, the Settings page will be in the sidebar.)

Step 3: Check for updates

Step 4: If any updates are available, follow the on-screen prompts to install the update.

If your box is on much older software, or will not update

These steps stay here for anyone whose box has been offline or unused for a long time. If your box has never been connected to the internet, or has not been updated in years, it is still able to update: connect it to your network and follow the steps above. After the first update installs, please check for updates once more, in case a further update is available.

If the box says it is already up to date but is on version 1.0.92

Version 1.0.92 has a fault where the box reports itself as already up to date and will not upgrade any further. The steps below clear that. They apply only to a box showing version 1.0.92. If your box is on a 2.0 version, this does not apply to you and no reset is needed.

To check which version you have, go to Settings, then About.

Please note that the steps below erase your settings and channels, and you will need to rescan and reconnect afterwards. Only use them if your box reports 1.0.92 and will not update.

1. Go to Settings, then System Settings, then Device Preferences, then About, and select Factory Reset.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the reset.
3. Power cycle the box: turn it off, unplug it, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
4. Reconnect to your network, then check for updates again using the steps at the top of this article.
