ADTH NextGen TV USB is a certified device that complies with the A3SA standard and supports playing encrypted channels in online mode. To successfully play encrypted channels, please check that your host device meets the following requirements:
Ensure that your host device supports Widevine DRM L1.
Most certified Android TV, Google TV, or Fire TV devices typically support Widevine L1.
You can check your device’s DRM level using the free DRM Info app (available on the Google Play Store). The information can be found under the Security Level section within Widevine CDM.
Devices with only Widevine L3 cannot play encrypted ATSC 3.0 channels. This is a requirement of the content protection standard, not a setting that can be changed, so a Widevine L1 host device is needed. Unencrypted channels are unaffected and will still play.
Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
Internet access is required to retrieve decryption keys and authenticate protected content.
Ensure “Automatic date & time” is enabled
Go to Settings > System Settings
Go to Device Preferences > Date & Time
Enable "Automatic date & time", and select "Use network-provided time"
Once these requirements are met
Encrypted channels play automatically. There is nothing to switch on.
If an encrypted channel still will not play once all of the above are in place, please contact support with your host device make and model, its Widevine level, and the channel number, so we can check it against that station.
